Computerworld Australia has compiled a list of upcoming technology events for the Australian IT industry taking place in the following weeks and months.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person conferences and summits may be rescheduled or canceled unexpectedly, so be sure to verify an event’s status before scheduling travel.

This list will be updated as we hear of more events, so keep checking for updates.

March 2021

1 March: Construct a Virtual Reality Experience, virtual course. This free course available through Future Learn will cover computer graphics concepts; 3D coordinates and shapes; scaling, rotating, and colouring objects; and learning to code virtual reality using JavaScript.

4-5 March: UXDX APAC 2021, virtual event. Through case studies, sessions and online networking opportunities, the event will discuss the shift from projects to product teams to build better products.

9 March: Busting the 3 biggest myths about automation, live webinar, noon. Avec will discuss points including how automation can enhance a team's output at minimal costs to the business and practical ways leading companies utilising RPA to save time and money.

16-18 March: Australian Cyber Conference 2021, Canberra. The annual conference from the Australian Information Security Association (AISA) seeks to build the capabilities of security professionals. Also in Melbourne 15-17 November.

22 March: Data Mining with Weka, virtual course. This free course available through Future Learn will cover the basics of data mining, principles of popular algorithms, practical applications, and more.

24 March to 29 April: Salesforce Live Australia and New Zealand, virtual event. During this six-week event, participants will hear from experts and practitioners across marketing, sales, service, customer experience, innovation as the event explores the changing face of technology and business.

25-26 March: Gartner Security and Risk Management Summit, virtual event. The summit will feature independent experts to help attendees to create the security and IT risk management plans they need.

31 March – 1 April: Cisco Live, virtual event. Cisco Live will go ahead this year as a global event with keynotes, technical education, hands-on labs, musical performances and more.

April 2021

8-9 April: International Conference on Technology, Knowledge, and Society, Melbourne. This in-person and virtual event focuses on societal and epistemological aspects of technology.. 

12-15 April: Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Asia Pacific Forum, Brisbane. Demonstrations of Australia’s new initiatives and adapted learnings from neighbouring countries will be featured under the theme ITS Innovation Creating Liveable Communities.

May 2021

17-18 May: ICTI 2021, Sydney. The virtual and in-person International Conference on Technology and Innovation focuses on academic and industry reserach in tech innovations.

17-18 May: ICCC 2021, Sydney. The virtual and in-person International Conference on Cyberterrorism and Cyberwarfare is aimed at academic and industry researchers.

June 2021

8-9 June: Gartner Data and Analytics Summit APAC, virtual event. The conference explores ways to enable AI-driven analytics into business processes and decision support systems.

August 2021

23-27 August: Voxxed Days Downunder, Sydney and Melbourne. The community developer conference series and master classes will count on foreign and local speakers.

25-26 August: Techspo Sydney 2021, Sydney. The technology expo will be held at the ANZ Stadium, showcasing upcoming technologies and innovation.

October 2021

25-27 October: Gartner Symposium/ITxpo Australia, Gold Coast. The event combines analyst and vendor technology sections with an enterrise technology showcase.

November 2021

15-17 November: Australian Cyber Conference 2021, Melbourne. The annual conference from the Australian Information Security Association (AISA) seeks to build the capabilities of security professionals. Also in Canberra 16-18 March.
