My malware problem did require a new approach, it's called the Mac!

Like Jason Bradley in this article, I'm called on all the time to fix the ravages of malware on friends', family and coworkers' PCs. To reiterate, the reason I chose the Mac platform was (at least for the time being) because it's relatively safe from malware. Sure, that may change, but for the past three years I've enjoyed the complete freedom from viruses that my Mac affords me. I agree that traditional signature based AV often fails to "keep up" and from my experience, even heuristic scanning hasn't proved to be all that effective. I simply chose to avoid the issue altogether.
