Linux has had a hate/hate relationship with Broadcom. Linux users need Broadcom Wi-Fi drivers. Broadcom does a lousy job of supporting Linux. Now, a combined effort from Dell, Canonical, and Broadcom has lead to a new Linux driver for many popular Broadcom chipsets.

Steve Ballmer is fighting against testifying in the Vista "junk PC" class action suit, but a Microsoft motion reveals that he had discussions with Intel and other Microsoft business partners about the controversial scheme. Considering that the ill-fated program may have been launched on behalf of Intel, it would be intriguing to know about the discussions.

Steve Ballmer wants you to root for the little guy and underdog: Microsoft. In an interview with the BBC, he likened Microsoft to David up against Google as Goliath. There's one problem here: Microsoft's aim with a sling is off-target.
